Tasting Notes

Colour
Perfect pretzel.
Nose
Cherry wood smoke, pipe tobacco and buffalo leather.
Palate
Rich, savoury peat, dried fig, wild plum and betel nut.
Finish
Candied pecan and raisin, with sweet cigar undertones.

Further Information

Good luck concealing or masking anything from Laphroaig distillery… Conversely, for finishing this Williamson we needed a cask that wouldn’t be hidden, or completely overridden, by the heavily peated spirit. Marsala’s sophisticated tobacco notes complement the Islay smoke - adding richness, without clashing with the notoriously medicinal, peaty tang.
